Thomas Cleanings’ founder and owner, Richard Thomas, decided early in his career that working for someone else was not for him; he wanted control of his own destiny.

This motivated him to start his own business and after extensive research decided the cleaning industry presented a great opportunity. He determined that with the correct attitude, organisation and effort the industry had the potential to offer significant financial rewards and job satisfaction; this led to the creation of Thomas Cleaning in 1989.

Thomas Cleaning had no problem winning contracts for everything from sofa superstores to airport departure lounges with their “can do” attitude, attention to detail and desire to deliver customer satisfaction.

Several years ago the company realised there was a massive opportunity within the domestic cleaning market so decided to concentrate on this area for expansion. They have since enjoyed amazing success in this market and today gain at least one new domestic client each day and now 80% of the turnover is associated with this field of expertise.

Since incorporation in 1989, the management of Thomas Cleaning has developed considerable expertise in the business; systems and requirements related to operating a domestic cleaning service and have over the years considered various options for expanding the business. After due care and consideration the Company determined that franchising was the most appropriate route and so launched three pilot schemes.

With the success of these pilots the Company is now ready to push forward with its expansion plans and there are new franchise opportunities available in several locations.
