From Humble Beginnings to a Growing Brand
Butterwick Bakery was founded in 2017 by a family with a passion for handcrafted baking and bold, creative flavours. What started as a small kitchen experiment in rural Northamptonshire quickly turned into something bigger driven by a belief that sweet treats should be fresh, exciting, and anything but ordinary. Inspired by American-style indulgence and British café culture, Butterwick’s founders began perfecting recipes late into the night, often selling out within hours of opening pop-up stalls at local events.
Encouraged by growing demand and enthusiastic customer feedback, the first Butterwick store opened in Corby, bringing a colourful, high-energy bakery concept to the high street. From there, the brand grew rapidly through word of mouth, social media buzz, and a reputation for quality that customers could taste. Each new store was designed to be more than just a place to buy treats it was a welcoming, local hub where people could connect over coffee, celebrate life’s little wins, and treat themselves to something special.
Today, Butterwick operates 13 successful locations across the Midlands and beyond, with more on the way. While our business has grown, our core values remain unchanged: we never compromise on quality, creativity, or customer care. Every store reflects our commitment to excellence, from the handmade bakes to the smiling faces behind the counter.
